Laura Clark (aug 1991) is a contemporary abstract artist based in Morristown, New Jersey, and has been featured in local cafes, shops, and publications.

She was a competitive swimmer during her formative years, and has a background in marketing, sales, and advertising. It was through those experiences, both positive and negative, that led her back to her creative expression.

She begins each of her pieces with an aesthetic in mind, and moves through the process fluidly and intentionally unintentional.

Acrylics in various forms make up the majority of her work, often in layered washes or opaque brushstrokes. She also utilizes other tools like pencils, charcoal, and oil sticks, and is no stranger to using her hands directly onto the canvas.

What she appreciates most about abstract artwork is the permission it allows the viewer to perceive it with no bounds or instruction. No two people will view it in the exact same way.

It’s what’s in between the obvious where the depth, conversation, and feeling take form, allowing a newness to reveal itself with each observation.
